The basic status of China's tire renovation

China is a big rubber consumer in the world. With the rapid development of the automobile industry and mining machinery, China has become the world's largest rubber consumer for seven consecutive years. According to the statistics of the World Rubber Research Organization, China's rubber consumption in 2008 was 5.959 million tons, accounting for 27% of the world's total consumption. At the same time, China is a country with very scarce rubber resources. More than 70% of natural rubber and more than 40% of synthetic rubber in China rely on imports, and the contradiction between supply and demand is very prominent. In 2008, the domestic tire production was about 546 million (including motorcycle tires, etc.), and the amount of used tires was nearly 200 million.

As we all know, the world's retreading industry has been in existence for more than a century. The history of China's tire retreading industry can be traced back to the retreading society that appeared in 1928, even since the establishment of the first retreading factory in China in 1937. It has a history of 72 years. In the 60 years since the founding of New China, China's tire retreading industry has undergone earth-shaking changes. In the five years from 2004 to 2008, the domestic new tire output was 239 million, 318 million, 433 million, 479 million, and 555 million (more than doubled in five years). Due to the serious shortage of natural rubber and synthetic rubber resources, it has also promoted the rapid development of the tire retreading industry. The amount of old tire retreading is increasing year by year, from 2004 to 8 million, 9.6 million in 2005, and 10 million in 2006. In 2007, it increased to 11 million, 12 million in 2008, and reached in 2009. 13 million. China's tire retreading industry has begun to enter the ranks of the world's tire refurbished production countries. Although China's tire retreading industry has developed rapidly, the varieties of retreaded tires are not wide enough, and more than 80% of them are concentrated on tire retreading of public transport and freight trucks. Others such as: the retreading of car tires has just started, the refurbished rate of large mining tires only accounts for 20%, and the retreading rate of aviation tires is only about 10%. According to the statistics of 54 national enterprises above designated size by the National Bureau of Statistics in 2008, tires have been refurbished to achieve a total industrial output value of 2.23 billion yuan; for the statistics of 209 enterprises above designated size, the reclaimed rubber production industry achieved a total industrial output value of 12.3 billion yuan.
