The meaning of the tire load index
The 'language' communication of a tire is a set of numbers and represents the form of a series of letters of data specifications, brands and types. This is universal and has been agreed globally by all tire manufacturers. The "load index" is a number (in kilograms) corresponding to the maximum load, indicating the maximum weight the tire can withstand under normal inflation conditions. Molded maximum load figures in pounds or kilograms can be found elsewhere on the sidewall.
