The role of the accelerator pedal

The main function of the accelerator pedal is to control the opening of the throttle to control the power output of the engine. The accelerator pedal of some cars is connected to the throttle of the engine through the throttle cable or the pull rod, and the throttle is directly controlled when the driver steps on the accelerator pedal. Nowadays, many vehicles use electronic throttle, and the accelerator pedal and throttle are no longer connected by the throttle cable. A displacement sensor is mounted on the accelerator pedal of the electronic throttle. When the driver steps on the accelerator pedal, the ECU collects the opening change and acceleration of the displacement sensor on the pedal, determines the driver's driving intention according to the built-in algorithm, and then throttles the engine. The control motor sends a corresponding control signal to control the power output of the engine.
